ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN ELEKTRONIK GATE PADA GERBANG UTAMA UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA KAMPUS INDRALAYA
Sriwijaya University Indralaya Campus has a high level of vehicle movement every day, both from students, lecturers, and employees. To overcome the problem of vehicle queues and improve the efficiency and security of the entry and exit system, the implementation of an optimal e-gate system is required. This study aims to analyze the number of e-gates needed based on queue theory and simulation using VISSIM software. The queue models used are single channel and multi-channel with a probabilistic approach and Poisson distribution. The results of the queue theory analysis show an optimal configuration of two gates for motorcycles and two gates for cars, with a maximum queue length of 30 meters which is still within safe limits. The results of the VISSIM simulation that has been validated using the GEH statistical test show an alternative configuration of three gates for motorcycles and one gate for cars during peak hours. In its implementation, one motorcycle gate is converted into a car gate due to the limited road width of 10 meters, but can still be used for motorcycles when queues occur. The simulation shows that the queue remains under control, with a maximum length of 31.72 meters (motorcycles) and 26 meters (cars), a service time of 4–5 seconds, and meets the requirements of a busy probability of
