PENGARUH PEER GROUP SIMULATION TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN TINDAKAN RESUSITASI JANTUNG PARU PADA SISWA MENENGAH ATAS
The incidence of cardiac arrest in the community is relatively high, but the rate of first aid given to victims remains very low. One of the causes is the lack of skills of laypeople, especially high school students, in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Efforts to improve these skills can be done through a simulation or a peer group method. This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of peer group and simulation methods on the skills of high school students in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The research employed pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test approach. The sample consisted of 25 members of of the Red Cross Youth (PMR) obtained using total sampling. Data collection used an observation sheet questionnaire. The results of the study showed that the p-value was 0.001 (p, CI 95%), which revealed a significant effect of the peer group simulation on CPR skills among high school students. The skills of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation among laypeople can be improved through the implementation of a combination of peer group simulation methods. Improving the skills of high school students in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation is expected to increase the survival raet of cardiac arrest victims outside the hospital setting.
