PERSEPSI KEPALA KELUARGA TERHADAP KEBAKARAN HUTAN DI DESA PULAU SEMAMBU KECAMATAN INDRALAYA UTARA
This study aims to determine the perception of the head of the family towards forest fires in Pulau Semambu Village, North Indralaya District. This type of research is descriptive with qualitative methods involving 2 expert informants and 6 key informants. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews. The results showed that the knowledge of the head of the family related to the causes of forest fires was good, such as land clearing by burning carried out by certain individuals or due to negligence such as throwing cigarette butts carelessly. The head of the family in Pulau Semambu Village also reprimanded the community who were still burning illegally, and provided information regarding the negative impacts of the activity. The community also hopes that the government can provide free post-fire health services, provide complete extinguishers, and health services needed in emergency situations. In addition, the appeal and care for the environment is also expected to prevent future fires. Public awareness about the dangers of forest fires needs to be increased through socialization and strict law enforcement, especially for owners of sleeping land so that it can be managed appropriately to reduce the potential for fire events.
