PERAN MASYARAKAT PEDULI API DALAM PENGENDALIAN KEBAKARAN HUTAN DAN LAHAN DI DESA PALEM RAYA KECAMATAN INDERALAYA UTARA KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR TAHUN 2024
Forest and land fires are disasters that have a serious impact on the environment and public health. To address this issue, the Masyarakat Peduli Api was established to play an active role in the prevention and control of forest and land fires. This study aims to determine the role of MPA in controlling forest and land fires in Palem Raya Village, North Inderalaya District, and Ogan Ilir Regency in 2024. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observation, and document review. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of MPA members, the village head, the head and staff of the Ogan Ilir Regional Disaster Management Agency, and staff from Manggala Agni Daops XIV-Banyuasin. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions using source and method triangulation techniques. The results show that MPA has actively carried out most of its duties, such as providing education, disseminating information, and coordinating joint patrols with other agencies. However, shortcomings were found in the implementation of regular meetings and limited training that did not meet the minimum training standards. In addition, planning and updating membership requirements have not been conducted due to budget constraints. The conclusion of this study indicates that MPA has an important role in controlling forest and land fires in Palem Raya Village, although its performance is not yet fully optimal. Therefore, it is recommended that the village and district governments improve training, provide adequate facilities and infrastructure, and update annual planning to enhance the effectiveness and regeneration of MPA members.
