HUBUNGAN SELF EFFICACY DENGAN KEPATUHAN MINUM OBAT PADA PENDERITA HIPERTENSI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS DELINOM KOTA PRABUMULIH
Hypertension is a chronic disease that requires long-term treatment. Low medication adherence is a major factor in therapy failure, one factor being self-efficacy, which is the belief in oneself in undergoing treatment. This study aimed to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and medication adherence among hypertension patients in the Delinom Community Health Center (Puskesmas) in Prabumulih City. This study used a quantitative, observational, and analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 52 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection used the MASES-R questionnaire for self-efficacy and the MMAS-8 for medication adherence. The results showed that of the 52 respondents, 34 (65.4%) had low self-efficacy and 35 (67.3%) had low medication adherence. Statistical analysis using the Somers' d test revealed a relationship between self-efficacy and medication adherence (p-value=0.000). The results of this study indicate that the higher a patient's level of self-confidence in their ability to undergo treatment, the higher the likelihood of adherence to regular medication. Therefore, increasing self-efficacy needs to be a priority in patient education and support programs to support successful long-term hypertension management.
