PENGARUH PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN MAHASISWA ATLET TENTANG METODE PRICE DALAM PENANGANAN CEDERA OLAHRAGA
Sports injuries are a common problem experienced by athletes and can threaten the longevity of their careers. The PRICE method (Protect, Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate) is a standard approach as an initial treatment of sports injuries. However, many athletes still do not understand this technique well. This study aims to determine the effect of health education on student athletes' knowledge of the PRICE method in handling sports injuries. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one group pre-test post-test approach. The sample consisted of student athletes from the 2022 cohort of the Physical Education Study Program at Sriwijaya University, selected using non-probability purposive sampling. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire, which was administered before and after health education was provided. The data were then analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. From the pretest result, it was found that 36 student athletes (100%) had a low level of knowledge.
