The purpose of this study was to determine the best drip line placement depth based on the distance and wet circumference of the subsurface drip irrigation system. This study was conducted from February to April 2025 at the Laboratory of Agricultural Engineering Study Program, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) experimental method consisting of 5 treatment levels repeated three times. The research parameters consisted of the average Horizontal Wet Distance (H), the average Vertical Wet Distance above the drip line (Va), the average Vertical Wet Distance below the drip line (Vb), and the ratio of horizontal to vertical wet distance above the drip line (H/Va), and the ratio of horizontal to vertical wet distance below the drip line (H/Vb). The results of this study indicate that the depth of drip line placement affects the horizontal distance, upper vertical distance, lower vertical distance and the H/Vb ratio. The 10 cm depth treatment (P1) showed horizontal, vertical wetting distances above the drip line and vertically below the highest drip line, respectively 8.03 cm, 5.90 cm, 7.60 cm. However, the placement of the drip line too close to the ground surface has a higher evaporation potential. The 15 cm drip line depth treatment (P2) is the best treatment because it has a fairly large horizontal spread distance, although slightly smaller than P1, but with a ratio of H/Vb\geq 1 the wetting pattern is considered quite good.
