AKUMULASI LOGAM BERAT TIMBAL (Pb) DAN TEMBAGA (Cu) PADA KEPITING BIOLA (Uca spp.) DI MUARA SUNGAI MUSI, SUMATERA SELATAN
Fiddler crabs play an important role in the food chain and nitrogen cycle in the mangrove ecosystem. The waters of the Musi River Estuary receive flow from the Musi River and are affected by land activities such as industry, agriculture, plantations and which can pollute the environment. This study aims to measure the levels of lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) in fiddler crabs (Uca spp.) and assess their consumption suitability based on food quality standards. Sampling was carried out in August 2024 at six stations using a purposive sampling method. The concentration of heavy metals in fiddler crabs (Uca spp.) was analyzed using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) in accordance with SNI 2354.5: 2011 for lead (Pb) and SNI 2354.13: 2014 for copper (Cu). The results showed that heavy metal lead (Pb) in Uca forcipata ranged from 0.0146–0.0254 mg/kg and copper (Cu) 0.065–0.076 mg/kg. In Uca tetragonon, heavy metal lead (Pb) ranges from 0.0114–0.0205 mg/kg and copper (Cu) 0.075 mg/kg. These levels are still below the safe limits according to BPOM (2018) and FAO (1983).
