The objectives of this research are (1) to identify the difficulties faced by students in the Basic CAD/CAM course in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program at Sriwijaya University; (2) to describe students' efforts in overcoming difficulties in the Basic CAD/CAM course in the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program at Sriwijaya University. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection through unstructured interviews. The data sources for this research are nine mechanical engineering education students who have completed or are currently taking the Basic CAD/CAM course, and one lecturer. The data analysis techniques used in this research are data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results of this research indicate that the learning difficulties experienced by students in the Basic CAD/CAM course include difficulties in reading drawings and difficulties in adjusting the UCS or drawing axis in three-dimensional form. The efforts made by students to overcome these learning difficulties include independent learning, group study, and repetitive practice of the material.
