This research aims to examine the implementation of work training execution as a substitute for fines for children in conflict with the law at the Palembang District Attorney's Office.Children are considered the nation's seedlings, playing a strategic role in the future survival of the country.However, many children come into conflict with the law due to various social and economic factors that influence their behavior.The criminal justice system, which often involves imprisonment, is not always effective in rehabilitating children and often worsens their psychological condition.Therefore, a more developmentally appropriate approach for children is needed, one of which is the execution of vocational training as a substitute for fines, which is expected to provide rehabilitation benefits as well as useful skills for the future.The formulation of the problem raised in this study includes what about is the implementation of work training execution as a substitute for fines for children as perpetrators of criminal acts by the Palembang District Attorney's Office and factors can influence the Palembang District Attorney's Office in imposing work training as a substitute for fines on children facing the law. This research is an empirical normative study using a case approach and a statutory approach.According to the research findings, vocational training education not only replaces fines but also acts as a form of social rehabilitation that empowers young people involved in legal conflicts.The prosecutor's choice also depends on elements such as the child's age, first offense, and recommendations from rehabilitation facilities like BAPAS, LPKS and LPKA.
