LOGAM BERAT TIMBAL (Pb) DAN TEMBAGA (Cu) PADA AIR DAN SEDIMEN DI MUARA SUNGAI MUSI SUMATERA SELATAN
The Musi River Estuary is the estuary of two large rivers (Banyuasin River and Lalan River) in South Sumatra province. The Musi River Estuary accommodates various components of pollutants that enter through the river flow. The fluctuating water quality of the Musi River Estuary is strongly suspected of also affecting the concentration of heavy metals. The purpose of this study was to determine the concentration of heavy metals Pb and Cu in water and sediment and compare them with the quality standards according to the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 51 of 2004. This study was conducted in August 2024. Sampling was carried out at six station points using purposive sampling. The concentration of heavy metals was analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) based on SNI. No. 6989.84: 2019 and No. 8910. 2021. The results of the study showed that the concentration of heavy metals in the water of the Musi River Estuary ranged from 0.0494 - 0.2558 mg/L (Pb) and 0.3444 - 0.9018 mg/L (Cu). Meanwhile, the concentration of heavy metals in the sediment ranged from 0.0049 - 0.0083 mg/kg (Pb) and 0.0234 - 0.3042 mg/kg (Cu). The water quality in the Musi River Estuary is classified as significantly polluted, while the sediment is still relatively good for marine life.
