Red chili plants are vegetable plants with high economic value. Maintenance of red chili plants such as pruning can affect the production and diversity of arthropods around them. This study was conducted from July to October at the Socio-economic Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study was conducted to determine the effect of pruning on red chili plants on arthropod diversity and production. The study used an observation method. The results showed that the diversity of arthropod species in red chili plants without pruning was higher than in red chili plants that were pruned. In red chili plantings without pruning, 18 species of arthropods were found, namely Anoplepis gracilipes, Aphis gossypii, Camponotus americanus, Camponotus vagus, Coccinella transversalis, Criotettix sp., Harpalus rufipes, Lawana sp., Nezara viridula, Oxyopes sp., Orthomorpha coarctata, Paederus fuscipes, Polyrachis dives, Rabidosa punctulata, Sceliphron caementarium, Spodoptera litura, Tetranogula clypearis, Velarifictorus micado. In the red chili plantation with pruning, 13 species of arthropods were found, namely Anoplepis gracilipes, Aphis gossypii, Camponotus americanus, Camponotus vagus, Coccinella transversalis, Harpalus rufipes, Oxyopes sp., Orthomorpha coarctata, Plusia sp., Polyrachis dives, Rabidosa punctulata, Tetranogula clypearis, Velarifictorus micado. The production of red chili plantations that were pruned was higher than red chili plantations without pruning. In the red chili plantations that were pruned, the average weight of the fruit obtained was 149.08 grams. The average weight of red chili fruit obtained in plantations without pruning was 132.46 grams.
