PENGARUH KEPATUHAN DAN EDUKASI PASIEN HIPERTENSI TERHADAP PENURUNAN TEKANAN DARAH DI INSTALASI RAWAT JALAN RSUD SITI FATIMAH PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Hypertension treatment must be accompanied by compliance with medication consumption and good blood pressure management, otherwise this condition can be a major cause of morbidity and mortality in various countries including Indonesia. Hypertension therapy is highly dependent on the level of patient compliance in undergoing treatment to maintaining blood pressure stability, increasing the effectiveness of therapy and evaluating blood pressure values after taking medication. This study aims to analyze the effect of hypertension patient compliance on decreasing blood pressure at Siti Fatimah Hospital, South Sumatra Province. The research method used is a cross-sectional design with an accidental sampling technique. A total of 54 hypertension patients participated in this study, with the level of compliance measured using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) questionnaire. The results of the data were analyzed using the Paired t-test showing a significant effect between patient compliance and decreasing systolic blood pressure (p = 0.036) and decreasing diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.048). The conclusion of this study indicates that patient compliance with hypertension therapy has an effect on decreasing blood pressure at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Siti Fatimah Hospital, South Sumatra Province.
