RESPON PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN KEDELAI (GLYCINE MAX L. MERRILL) TERHADAP APLIKASI PUPUK VERMIKOMPOS DAN NPK
Soybean cultivation by applying vermicompost fertilizer and reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers such as NPK 16-16-16 improved environmental quality and supported sustainable agriculture. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying vermicompost and NPK fertilizers and to determine the best dose in the growth and yield increase of soybean plants. This research was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, and the Plant Ecology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The research was carried out from December 2024 to March 2025 at coordinates -3.2227604, 104.6468233. The design used was a Randomized Group Design consisting of 4 treatment units and 3 replications. Each treatment unit consisted of 12 plants and 4 plant samples were taken, so the total number of plant samples was 48 plants. The dose of fertilizer (P) consisted of 4 levels, namely: P1 = 0 kg vermicompost + 64.8 g NPK per plot, P2 = 3 kg vermicompost + 43.2 g NPK per plot, P3 = 6 kg vermicompost + 21.6 g NPK per plot, P4 = 9 kg vermicompost + 0 g NPK per plot. The observed variables were plant height, number of trifoliate leaves, leaf greenness, number of productive branches, root length, root fresh and dry weight, crown fresh and dry weight, number of filled pods per plant, weight of filled pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, weight of seeds per plant, weight of seeds per plot, weight of 100 seeds, and production. The results showed that the application of vermicompost and NPK fertilizer had a significant effect on the variables of plant height at 3 weeks, 5 weeks, and 6 weeks, the number of leaves at 4 weeks and 6 weeks, the number of productive branches at 4 weeks, 5 weeks, and 6 weeks and had a very significant effect on plant height at 4 weeks and the number of leaves at 2 weeks. The application of 9 kg vermicompost + 0 g NPK was the best dose with the highest average value in the variables of plant height, number of trifoliate leaves, number of productive branches, root length, fresh and dry weight of roots, fresh and dry weight of crown, number of filled pods per plant, weight of filled pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, weight of seeds per plant, weight of seeds per plot, weight of 100 seeds, and production.
