KOMPOSISI FRAKSI SERAT (HEMISELULOSA, SELULOSA, DAN LIGNIN) DAN ISI DINDING SEL SILASE TMR RUMPUT PAKCHONG DAN POLLARD DENGAN INOKULAN EM-4
The fiber fraction is an important element of feed that serves as an energy source for ruminants, increasing their productivity. The fiber fraction consists of neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, and cell wall contents. This study examined the composition of fiber fractions (hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin) and cell wall contents of silage TMR of Pakchong grass and pollard with EM-4 inoculant. The study was conducted from October to November 2024 at the Animal Nutrition and Food Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry Study Program in the Department of Animal Husbandry Technology and Industry at the Faculty of Agriculture of Sriwijaya University. The study employed a statistical model with two treatments and four replicates, analyzed using a T-test. The treatments were P0 (Pakchong grass silage) and P1 (Pakchong grass TMR silage + pollard). The observed parameters were hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin content, as well as cell wall content, using the Van Soest method. The results of the research on the parameters hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin showed that they were not significantly different (P > 0.05). However, the cell wall content parameter showed significantly different results (P < 0.05). Based on these results, it can be concluded that Pakchong grass TMR silage with the addition of pollard has no effect on the composition of the fiber fraction and significantly affects cell wall content compared to the control treatment.
