ANALISIS PENGARUH KEDALAMAN TIANG PERKUATAN CERUCUK TERHADAP DAYA DUKUNG PONDASI TAPAK PADA TANAH GAMBUT
Peat soil is characterized by its high compressibility and low bearing capacity, making it a significant challenge for infrastructure development. This study aims to evaluate the improvement in bearing capacity and reduction in settlement of raft foundations reinforced with wooden piles on peat soil. The experimental research was conducted at the Soil Mechanics Laboratory of Universitas Sriwijaya using theQuick Loading Test method. Disturbed peat soil samples were collected from Pedamaran, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatera. The foundation models consisted of a plain raft foundation and raft foundations reinforced with gelam wood piles at varying depths ranging from 30 cm to 50 cm. The piles were embedded 1.5 cm into the raft with a diameter of 1.5 cm and a spacing of 2.5D. Loads were applied incrementally, and settlement was recorded using LVDT sensors. Data were analyzed using the Tangent Intersection and Chin interpretation methods. The results indicated that the unreinforced raft foundation had a bearing capacity of 15.93 kN/m² and a settlement of 33.1 cm. With reinforcement, the bearing capacity increased significantly—up to 31.29 kN/m²—and settlement decreased to 8.7 cm. Greater pile depth led to higher bearing capacity and better performance. The optimal improvement was observed at a pile depth of 50 cm, which yielded a bearing capacity increase of up to 285.16% compared to the unreinforced foundation. This research demonstrates that combining raft foundations with wooden pile reinforcement is an effective and economical method for enhancing bearing capacity on peat soils, especially for light to medium-scale infrastructure projects.
