Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a leading horticultural commodity that is widely consumed by the community as a cooking mixture and spices. This shallot commodity has many benefits and high economic value and is included in the group of unsubstituted spices that function as food flavorings. This study aims to determine the use of chicken manure fertilizer on the growth and yield of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) Brebes variety. The study took place from July to August 2024 in the experimental field located behind the Department of Agricultural Cultivation at Sriwijaya University, in North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The method used in this research is the Randomized Block Design (RBD) method consisting of 4 levels of treatment and 3 replications with each treatment there are 4 plants, so there are 48 treatment units. P0 = Control, P1 = Chicken Manure 10 tons/ha or 40 g/polybag, P2 = Chicken Manure 20 tons/ha or 80 g/ polybag, P3 = Chicken Manure 30 tons/ha or 120 g/ polybag. The results of this study showed that the use of fertilizer from chicken manure using the dose and treatment P2 = 20 tons/ha (80 g/polybag) significantly increased plant height at the age of 4 weeks after planting. In addition, the number of leaves also showed a significant effect on the P2 treatment at the age of 6 weeks after planting. Application of fertilizer from chicken manure with different doses did not show a significant impact on various other parameters that have been studied.
