This thesis is entitled "Optimization of Financial Statement Notes (CALK) in the Planning and Finance Section of the Palembang City Regional Secretariat" The background of this research is The problems that occur in the field are the lack of complete information in presenting data in CALK, the information presented is difficult to understand, namely it is made using a different format than before, the limited human resources in the preparation are a factor that hinders the optimal CALK itself, CALK in the Planning and Finance section is still made manually due to the lack of utilization of information technology.This research was conducted in the Planning and Finance Section of the Palembang City Regional Secretariat. The theory used in this study is the Optimization Theory according to Winardi (Ali 2014) with the indicators reviewed, namely Effectiveness and Efficiency, This study uses a qualitative method. Based on the results of the research analysis that has been carried out, the management of CALK in the Planning and Finance section is quite optimal and has met transparent and accountable standards. CALK management has been made in accordance with SAP so that it reduces the occurrence of financial report manipulation but there is still a lack of human resources in the preparation of CALK so that the preparation process takes an uncertain time to complete. For example, for the purchase of goods and services In CALK itself, the details presented are quite informative and clear when measured using the standards provided by the government, BPKAD is a direct communication link (mediation) to OPD to prepare good and relevant financial reports such as what and interested parties and always open space to ask questions, especially for those who do not understand or are confused by using the jemput bola method and being more proactive.,The author can provide recommendations in the form of improving HR competencies such as holding special training for employees, Optimizing financial information systems to produce accurate data and periodic evaluation supervision.
