The area of tidal swamp land in Indonesia reaches 8.92 million ha with 5.9 million ha located in Central Kalimantan. This area makes tidal swamp land a potential natural resource to be used as agricultural land in order to achieve food security and self-sufficiency. The development of tidal swamp land has several problems regarding the low level of soil fertility that becomes a limiting factor and affects the growth and productivity of plants such as low soil pH with acid levels and low nutrient content such as N, P, K. One solution that can be applied to improve soil fertility is the use of soil amendments. One solution that can be applied to deal with these problems is by applying ameliorants and fertilizers. The ameliorants used are decomposers and dolomite lime with a dose of 1 ton ha-1 based on the results of soil analysis conducted by the BPPSDMP Ministry of Agriculture of Central Kalimantan Province. However, the effect of ameliorants on the need for N, P, K fertilizers on tidal swamp land is not fully understood. The results showed significant differences in soil pH, N-total, P-available, K-exchange, and the need for N (Urea) and P (SP-36) fertilizers, while the C-organic and K (KCl) fertilizer needs differed not significantly between before and after ameliorants.
