KEANEKARAGAMAN SERANGGA TANAH DI KEBUN SAWIT KAMPUS UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA INDRALAYA
Sriwijaya University, which is located in Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province, has 712 hectares of land, including a 35 hectare oil palm plantation. This research was carried out in an area of 1.4 hectares of oil palm plantations to assess the diversity of soil insects. The research was conducted from December 2024 to February 2025 using a descriptive survey method with a quantitative approach. Sampling was carried out by Purposive Sampling at four stations, each covering an area of 0.35 hectares, using the method Berlese-Tullgren Funnel. The aim of this research is to identify soil insect diversity, measure species and individuals, and analyze environmental factors that influence soil insect communities. This research shows that soil insects in oil palm plantations have varying levels of diversity at each observation station. There were 4 orders, 8 families and 18 genera recorded with a total of 488 individual soil insects. Some of the dominant genera found include: Panagaeus , Acupalpus , Tachys , Carabus , And Cryptophagus . The highest Shannon-Wiener diversity index was at Station 1 (H'= 2.72) and the lowest at Station 4 (H'= 1.25), with a total diversity value of H'= 1.92 which was included in the medium category. The evenness index (E) ranged from 0.21 to 0.94, with a mean value of 0.67 indicating a relatively even distribution of individuals. The results of this research indicate that the soil insect community in the research area is quite diverse and has the potential to be used as a bioindicator to transmit environmental conditions in oil palm plantations.
