HUBUNGAN STRES AKADEMIK DENGAN KESEJAHTERAAN PSIKOLOGIS SISWA KELAS XII SMA NEGERI 1 INDRALAYA UTARA
This study aims to determine the relationship between academic stress and psychological wellbeing among 12th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. The study employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method. The sample consists of 103 students selected using simple random sampling. The instruments used include an academic stress scale and a psychological well-being scale, both of which have undergone validity and reliability testing. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation techniques. The results indicate that most students experience moderate levels of academic stress, while their psychological wellbeing is relatively high. The analysis reveals a significant negative correlation between academic stress and psychological well-being. The higher the academic stress experienced by students, the lower their psychological well-being, and vice versa. These results indicate that academic pressure that is not managed properly can have an impact on students' mental health. Therefore, support from the school and family environment is very much needed. Counseling services, stress management training, and social-emotional guidance are important in helping students maintain their psychological balance. This study is expected to serve as a basis for the formulation of educational policies that are more concerned with the mental and emotional aspects of students.
