SISTEM PENGELOLAAN ADMINISTRASI KEMAHASISWAAN DAN ALUMNI KAMPUS MENGGUNAKAN BLOCKCHAIN BERBASIS PROOF-OF-AUTHORITY
The Faculty of Computer Science at Sriwijaya University currently relies on semi-digital and centralized processes for managing student and alumni certificates, which are vulnerable to forgery and lack transparency. This study develops a private blockchain–based certificate management system using Quorum with Hyperledger Besu and a POA (Proof-of-Authority) consensus mechanism. Non-Fungible Tokens (ERC-721) represent certified achievements, while metadata are stored on IPFS to ensure immutable off-chain storage. Following the six stages of Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM)—problem identification, solution objectives, artifact design and development, demonstration, evaluation, and communication—the prototype was deployed in a faculty lab and exercised end-to-end workflows with two student users and one administrator. Functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) covering 38 key features confirmed that the system meets design specifications. POA consensus achieved block finality in 5 seconds with negligible transaction cost, and IPFS integration enhanced data resilience. The findings indicate significant improvements in security, transparency, and efficiency of certificate verification. Future work may include mobile application support and AI integration to assist administrative decision-making.
