PENGARUH KECEPATAN PUTARAN PISAU DAN LAMA PENGERINGAN PADA PENGGILINGAN CAMPURAN KEONG SAWAH (Pila ampullacea L.) DAN DEDAK TERHADAP KINERJA MESIN PENGGILING TIPE ULIR
This research is motivated by the fact that rice field snails are considered pests for crops, especially rice plants. The abundant availability of rice field snails allows them to be utilized as an alternative source of animal protein feed. This study aims to determine the performance of a screw-type grinding machine in the second grinding stage with variations in rotational speed and drying duration. The research was conducted at the Soil and Water Engineering Laboratory, Agricultural Engineering Study Program, Department of Agricultural Technology, Sriwijaya University, using a quantitative two-way tabulation method and descriptive data presentation. The results are presented in the form of graphs and tables. The highest treatment for machine work capacity was found in the A3B3 treatment combination, with a blade rotation speed of 500 rpm and small snail size, which could crush 58.83% of the snails. The A3B2 treatment combination was considered very efficient in grinding, achieving 98.88%, while the A1B3 treatment combination was economical in fuel consumption at 0.38 liters/hour. The highest rpm reduction was found in the A1B1 treatment combination, amounting to 30.7%. This indicates that the higher the rotational speed, the greater the capacity, efficiency, and fuel consumption, but the lower the rpm reduction.
