In arranging mining activities, risk management on slope stability is very important, especially in areas that have a high risk of landslides and work accidents. Risk management includes the identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks as well as decision making to reduce or avoid these risks. The results of the study can be recommendations in the basis for making appropriate risk management decisions to reduce the risk of environmental damage and potential fatal hazards to humans. So that it can minimize potential hazards and provide a sense of security because the handling recommendations provided are based on the latest research and adjusted to direct field conditions. Then it can also be an additional reference in variations in conducting analysis related to slope stability. This research is designed by combining and only focusing on the realm of geotechnical understanding, where soil samples are tested taken in geotechnical drilling activities with ASTM C-97 standards to determine the basic physical properties of rocks, Unconfined compressive strength with the aim of determining the compressive strength value of soil core specimens using ASTM D 2938 standards, Direct shear aims to determine the shear strength of rock and soil core conto using ASTM D 5607 standard, Triaxial CU aims to determine the shear strength of soil core using ASTM D 5607 standard and assessment of rock mass quality based on GSI classification (Hoek & Marinos, 2000) which is the reference material in determining lithology in the design and modeling recommendations of slope geometry. Furthermore, in this study, geological modeling techniques for visualization will be carried out in estimating the potential for landslides on slopes, using geological structure data obtained from the Scan Line method. Geological modeling techniques carried out using Rocscience Slide software make it possible to visualize and simulate slope conditions and estimate the potential for landslides. So that analysis can be carried out for slope stability to compile the required concept concept. So this research is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the geological characteristics of the research area, and estimate the potential for landslides on slopes using geological structure analysis methods and engineering geological modeling. The role of geological structure is also a control in influencing stability on slopes. Finally, by analyzing the angle of a single level slope in each lithology with different rock masses, it will minimize the risk of collapse on the slope. So that each location such as Highwall, Low Wall and Side Wall slopes at PIT Mahakam with a design that is compiled analysis can be a preventive and curative action to minimize the risks that occur in mining activities.
