The research aims to measure and analyze the traffic noise levels on Kapten A Rivai Street, and to develop a noise model to predict noise levels on Kapten A Rivai Street in Palembang City. Data collection was conducted at a single location, in front of Bank Mandiri on Kapten A Rivai Street, to obtain noise data as well as several other traffic variables such as volume and speed of vehicles. Descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis methods were used to analyze the data in this study. The data were analyzed using software such as Microsoft Excel and SPSS (Statistic Product and Service Solution). Data measurement was carried out on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, for 4 hours, with leisure time from 13:00 to 15:00 WIB and busy time from 16:00 to 18:00 WIB. The results showed that the noise values due to traffic activities at a distance of 5 meters from the Sound Level Meter (SLM) ranged from 71.81 dB(A) to 75.20 dB(A), and at a distance of 10 meters ranged from 68.79 dB(A) to 73.29 dB(A). The research findings indicate that the noise on Kapten A Rivai Street has exceeded the standard noise limit permitted by the Minister of State for the Environment Decree No. 48 of 1996 concerning noise quality standards, which is 60 dB(A) for government areas and public facilities. Therefore, efforts need to be made to control the noise level to reduce sound pollution on the street. Keywords: noise, traffic, vehicle volume, Sound Level Meter
