This study is aimed to find out the students’ viewpoint and the relationship between speaking skills and technology use towards creating podcast in the English Education study program at Sriwijaya University. The sample of this study was 50 students in the English Education Study Program Sriwijaya University. The data were collected by questionnaires with statistically analyzed and Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results showed that students had positive viewpoint of creating podcast can enhance speaking skills such as in vocabulary, pronunciation, articulation, and fluency. However, there was very weak correlation between speaking skills and technology use towards creating podcast. In addition, the use of technology such as Zoom, Canva, and Capcut made process of creating podcast more efficient and easier.
