This research analyzes the synthesis of nanosilica from fly ash waste using a milling method with variations in duration. Fly ash is a byproduct of coal combustion that contains high silica content and has the potential to be utilized as nanosilica material. The synthesis was conducted using the High Energy Milling (HEM) method with grinding durations of 2, 3, and 4 hours to determine the effect of time on the characteristics of nanosilica. Microstructural analysis was performed using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The results showed that the highest SiO₂ content (52.025%) was obtained with a milling duration of 3 hours, while the smallest crystal size (14.65 nm) was found at 2 hours of milling. The sample milled for 2 hours also had the highest amorphous percentage of 99.65%, indicating better reactivity. This study proves that milling duration influences the chemical composition, crystal size, and particle homogeneity of nanosilica. Further studies with variations in other parameters, such as milling temperature, are needed to improve the efficiency of nanosilica production from fly ash.
