PERBANDINGAN EDUKASI MEDIA VIDEO DAN LEAFLET TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN PERAWATAN DIRI PASIEN HIPERTENSI
Self-care knowledge is important for hypertensive patients to know as a basis for controlling blood pressure and preventing complications of other diseases and can increase patient independence to maintain their health. The selection of appropriate health education media can help increase the knowledge of hypertensive patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of video and leaflet media education on self-care knowledge of hypertensive patients. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experiment type of research and a pretest-posttest design with control group. The population in this study were 400 hypertensive patients at the Merdeka Health Center with a distribution of the number of research samples in the intervention group totaling 22 people and in the control group totaling 22 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data analysis using marginal homogeneity statistical test and mann-whitney u test. The results of the marginal homogeneity test showed a p-value of 0.000 in the intervention group and a p-value of 0.000 in the control group. The results of the mann-whitney u test obtained a p-value of 0.032 (α ≤ 0.05) means that there is a significant difference between hypertensive patients knowledge about self-care after being given interventions with video and leaflet media. The results of this study can be an intervention option for health services in choosing effective media in counseling or health promotion activities to improve the knowledge of hypertensive patients regarding self-care and can be a source of reference for future researchers.
