Agriculture is an important sector for the economy in Indonesia, over time the population of Indonesia continues to grow and land will also decrease and food needs continue to increase. Efforts to efficiently use land to increase food crop production can be done by planting in polybags. Planting in polybags can be done by ultilizing empty land around the house, such as planting chilies in polybags and other horticultural plants. This research was conducted at ATC Sriwijaya University, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province, with a coordinate point of 3o13'21.9" LS, 104o38'48.6; BT the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying sugarcane bagasse biochar on the growth of curly red chilies. The research method used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 8 sugarcane bagasse biochar concentration treatments and 4 replicates, with 32 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 5 plants, so the total number of plants was 160. Each experimental unit had 2 sample plants, so the sample plants were 64 plants. P0: Control or without Bagasse Biochar Fertilizer P1 : 20g/polybag P2 bagasse biochar : 40g/polybag of bagasse biochar P3 : 60g/polybag of biochar bagasse P4 : 80g/polybag of bagasse biochar P5 :100g/polybag of biochar of bagasse P6 : 120 g/Polybag of biochar of bagasse P7 : 140g/Polybag Biochar of bagasse. The observed parameters consisted of plant height, stem diameter, number of productive branches, flowers, fruits, and weight. Based on the study results, which showed a significant effect on the growth of curly red chilies, a dose of 80g of bagasse biochar treated with P4 showed very significant results on plant height and the results of curly red chili pepper research showed that the dose of 60 g of bagasse biochar treated with P3 gave significant results on the number of fruits.
