IDENTIFIKASI DAN KELIMPAHAN MIKROPLASTIK PADA INSANG DAN SALURAN PENCERNAAN IKAN LAMPAM (Barbonymus schwanefeldii Bleeker, 1854) DI PERAIRAN SUNGAI MUSI KOTA PALEMBANG
The Musi River in the city of Palembang serves as a center for trade activities such as traditional markets, industrial activities, and residential areas. These various activities generate plastic waste that degrades into small particles known as microplastics. Microplastics accumulate in the aquatic biota of the area, including the lampam fish (Barbonymus schwanefeldii Bleeker, 1854). This study aims to identify the types of microplastics and analyze the percentage and abundance of microplastics present in the gills and digestive tracts of lampam fish. The research was conducted from December 2025 to March 2025 at the Animal Biosystematics Laboratory and the Ecology Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Sriwijaya. This study employed a purposive random sampling method. The results showed that four types of microplastics were identified: fiber, fragment, film, and pellet. The abundance of microplastics in the lampam fish was 624 particles, with the following percentages: fiber 57.26%, fragment 27.52%, film 33.50%, and pellet 10.67%.
