ANALISIS ECONOMIC POLICY UNCERTAINTY DAN KEBIJAKAN MAKROPRUDENSIAL TERHADAP KREDIT PERBANKAN: STUDI KASUS NEGARA OECD
Economic policy uncertainty has increased along with global turmoil, such as the financial crisis, pandemic and geopolitical conflicts. This condition encourages banks to be more cautious in lending. At the same time, macroprudential policies are implemented to maintain financial system stability, but have the potential to limit credit expansion. Therefore, this study aims to analyze Ecomonic Policy Uncertainty and Macroprudential Policy on Banking Credit: a case study of OECD countries. The data used in this study are secondary data in the form of panel data from 6 OECD member countries from 2010 to 2023 sourced from the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and Website Policy Uncertainty. The method used is panel data regression with the Random Effect Model selected. The results showed that Economic Policy Uncertainty has a negative and significant effect on bank credit and macropudential policies proxied by Non Performing Loans and Return On Assets have a negative and significant effect on bank credit in OECD countries. The implication of this study states that the importance of policy stability, banking efficiency and asset quality in supporting the financial intermediation function.
