ANALISIS SISTEM MINE DEWATERING TAMBANG BATUBARA DI PIT SECTION 2 PT BUDI GEMA GEMPITA, KABUPATEN LAHAT, SUMATERA SELATAN
One of the coal mining companies named PT Budi Gema Gempita (BGG) has a production-operation mining business permit covering an area of 1,524 hectares located in Muara Lawai Village, East Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province. Mining is carried out in pit section 2 with an area of 67.49 Ha. Mine base pit section 2 PT Budi Gema Gempita is located at an elevation of – 38 m with its highest point located at an elevation of 54 m, so it has a depth of 90 m. Coal mining activities at PT Budi Gema Gempita uses the open-pit mining method. Weather is an important factor that greatly affects coal mines with the open-pit mining method. High rainfall can disrupt the sustainability of mining operations. During the observation process, coal mining activities in pit section 2 were often flooded. This is due to the analysis of the mine dewatering system that has not been good. Therefore, it is necessary to re-plan the capacity and dimensions of the sump and find out the number of pump needs in pit section 2 so that when it rains, the water entering the pit does not overflow which can cause mining activities to be disrupted. From the results of the study, it was found that the total water entering the mining area amounted to 13.292,59 m3/day. It requires an additional sump volume of 81,891.63 m3 from the actual sump volume of 132,284.27 m3, so that the sump volume after addition is 214.175,904 m3. The pumping discharge of the Multiflo 420 pump is 884,76 m3/hour with working hours of 16 hours per day so that the amount of water pumped in one day is 14.156,16 m3/day. The number of pumps needed in pit section 2 is 1 unit while still using the same pump Multiflo 420 pump.
