There are several factors that can cause diabetes mellitus. Some of these factors are factors that can be modified and cannot be modified. One factor that can be changed is physical activity. Controlling blood glucose by doing physical activity is very involved and plays a big role in blood glucose levels in the body. In the end it will impact the risk of diabetes mellitus. This study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity and the risk of diabetes mellitus in the Indralaya Health Center working area. The type of research used is quantitative research with analytical methods. This research design used a cross sectional study approach with 102 respondents. Data collection used a glucometer, IPAQ questionnaire, FFQ questionnaire, and DASS-21 questionnaire. Analysis techniques were carried out univariate, bivariate and multivariate using the computer application. The results of the study showed that there was a correlation between physical activity and the risk of diabetes mellitus (p-value=0.007, PR 95% CI=2.457 (1.290- 4.682). Mmultivariate analysis showed p-value= 0.007 with a PR value = 4.336 (1.484 - 12.669). That means there is a significant correlation between physical activity and the risk of diabetes mellitus after being controlled by the variables age, family history of diabetes mellitus and stress. The suggestions in this research are for the public to pay more attention to the risk factors that cause diabetes mellitus and to carry out daily heavy physical activities such as lifting and moving heavy objects, exercising such as gymnastics, running and cycling at a fast tempo to reduce the risk of developing diabetes mellitus. It is also expected that the public can manage stress well.
