FORMULASI HANDBODY LOTION DARI EKSTRAK DAUN JAMBU BIJI (PSIDIUM GUAJAVA L.) DAN VIRGIN COCONUT OIL
This study aims to determine the effect of guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava L.) and VCO formulasitions on the quality of body lotion in accordance with SNI-16-4399-1996 standards. Guava leaf extraction by maceration using 96% ethanol yielded an extract with a 8.2% yield. VCO was obtained through an enzymatic process of coconut milk, yielding 25.17%. The body lotion was formulasited in three variations: F1, F2, and F3, with guava leaf extract concentrations of 5%, 6%, and 7%, and VCO concentrations of s10%, 15%, and 20%, respectively. Physical evaluations were conducted to test homogeneity, pH, spreadability, viscosity, and specific gravity. The study results show that all three formulasitions meet the quality standards of SNI-16-4399-1996, with F1, F2, and F3 being homogeneous. The pH values were F1: 7.69; F2: 7.65; F3: 7.49; spreadability was F1: 6.7 cm, F2: 6.3 cm, F3: 5,8 cm; viscosity was F1: 2644.78; F2: 3239.12; F3: 3833.45; and specific gravity was F1: 0.9532 ; F2: 1.0166; F3: 1.0298. Hedonic testing indicated that panelists preferred the first formulasi (F1).
