PERENCANAAN SQUEEZE CEMENTING DUAL SLURRY BALANCE PLUG PADA SUMUR HIGH-PERM DAN LOW-PRESS
Well cementing is a crucial stage in the oil and gas industry to maintain well integrity. One of the techniques used in this process is squeeze cementing. However, in well P-XX, which exhibits high permeability and low pressure conditions, the cement slurry requirement is significantly higher, and slurry distribution becomes more challenging to control. This study aims to optimize the use of the balance plug method combined with a dual slurry design as a solution for high permeability and low pressure wells. Based on mathematical calculations and numerical simulations, the results indicate that for well P-XX, with a perforation zone at an interval of 227.5 – 229 meters and a total depth of 649 mMD / 648.8 mTVD, approximately 33 sacks of cement are required. Additionally, the addition of chemical additives such as accelerator (99 lb), antifoam (3.3 gallons), dispersant (0.9 gallons), fluid loss additive (31.1 gallons), and bonding agent (37 gallons) enhances the efficiency of slurry distribution. The dual slurry design also proves to reduce material costs by up to 22% compared to the conventional design, making it a superior choice in terms of both cost efficiency and performance.
