Post-coal mine soils have low fertility due to heterogeneous conditions, making important nutrients in the soil decrease. One of the efforts to improve post-coal mine soil is by applying vermicompost-biochar and humic acid-biochar. This study aims to determine the effect of vermicompost-biochar and humic acid-biochar with the best dose on the nursery of sengon laut (Paraserianthes falcataria) plants in post-coal mine soil. The research was conducted in Greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, from October 2024 to January 2025, using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 (seven) treatments. Each treatment was repeated 3 (three) times and each replication consisted of 3 (three) experimental units of sengon laut nursery. The treatments consisted of: K0 = Control, VB1 = Vermicompost-Biochar 10% of soil weight, VB2 = Vermicompost-Biochar 20% of soil weight, VB3 = Vermicompost-Biochar 30% of soil weight, AB1 = Humic Acid-Biochar 10% of soil weight, AB2 = Humic Acid-Biochar 20% of soil weight, AB3 = Humic Acid-Biochar 30% of soil weight. The ratio of vermicompost to biochar is 1:2, while that of humic acid to biochar is 1:20. The results showed that the application of vermicompost-biochar and humic acid-biochar significantly affected the nursery of sengon laut (Paraserianthes falcataria L.) on post-coal mine soil. The best treatment effect on the parameters of pH H2O, pH KCL, C-organic, N-total, P-available, and K-dd was found in the treatment of vermicompost-biochar 30% of soil weight (VB3) and humic acid-biochar 30% of soil weight (AB3). While in the parameters of CEC, plant height, stem diameter, leaf fins, crown dry weight, the vermicompost-biochar treatment of 20% of soil weight (VB2) gave the best effect.
