HUBUNGAN PENGGUNAAN GIGI TIRUAN TERHADAP KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN GERIATRI (Studi Cross-Sectional pada Pasien Poli Geriatri di Rumah Sakit Mohammad Hoesin Palembang)
Tooth loss is a common oral health problem among geriatric patients (elderly). If left untreated, tooth loss can lead to diminished oral cavity functions, ultimately impacting overall quality of life. One common intervention is the fabrication of dentures to replace missing teeth, restore their function, and enhance quality of life. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between denture use and the quality of life in geriatric patients. Methods: This research employed a cross-sectional study design using the Geriatric Oral Health Assessment Index (GOHAI) questionnaire, which consists of 12 items. The study was conducted over a one-month period and involved 52 respondents. Results: This study shows that the relationship between denture use and quality of life of geriatric patients does not show significance. Conclusion: The oral health-related quality of life of geriatric patients at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital, Palembang, was generally good. Furthermore, factors such as the type of dentures, the time of fabrication, and the place of fabrication did not have a significant effect on their quality of life
