Background: A fracture is a disruption in the continuity of the bone structure due to impact or trauma. Fracture cases often occur among children because the elastic modulus of children’s bones is lower, making them easily brittle. Post-fracture surgery patients usually experience acute pain that causes discomfort. One of the non-pharmacological pain managements that can be used as an alternative in treating and managing acute to chronic pain is Benson relaxation therapy. Objective: To provide an overview of the results of a case study of pediatric nursing that focusing on nursing care by applying the results of the Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN) review with the application of Benson relaxation therapy in children with post-fracture surgery pain. Method: This study employed a description case study approach and journal review involving post-fracture surgery pediatric patients. Results and Discussions: The results of the study showed that the three patients had undergone fracture surgery (Elbow Reconstruction and ORIF) and experienced different pain scales. There were 4 similar nursing problems experienced by the three patients. The therapy given as the nursing care in this case is Benson relaxation therapy. Benson relaxation therapy was performed for 3 consecutive days with an intensity of 10-15 minutes each time of implementation. The results of this therapy showed a decrease in the pain scale in all three patients. The decrease in pain scale in patients was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The results of the pain evaluation after Benson relaxation therapy was given to the three patients were obtained, showing that patient AS’s pain level decreased from 6 to 3 (mild pain), patient V from 6 to 2 (mild pain), and patient D from 5 to 2 (mild pain). Conclusion: Based on the analysis of the three patients cases that have been carried out, Benson relaxation therapy can be an alternative or non-pharmacological complementary therapy to overcome pain experienced by children with post-fracture surgery.
