ANALISIS KUALITAS BRIKET ARANG DARI LIMBAH TANDAN KOSONG KELAPA SAWIT DAN TEMPURUNG KELAPA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN PEREKAT TEPUNG TAPIOKA
This study aimed to obtain the best briquette mixture variation from a combination of oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) and coconut shells using tapioca starch as an adhesive. The research was conducted from November 2024 to March 2025. The method used in this study was an experimental method. Tests were carried out using three treatments with three replications for each treatment, and the average value of each replication was calculated. The resulting charcoal briquettes had a block shape with dimensions of 3 cm in length, 3 cm in width, and 3.5 cm in height. Three types of material mixture percentages were used: 25% and 75%, 50% and 50%, and 75% and 25%, with 7% tapioca starch adhesive based on the sample weight. The results of the study showed that the briquettes with a composition of 25% EFB and 75% coconut shell produced the best results, with a moisture content of 7.55%, volatile matter content of 47%, ash content of 10.9%, fixed carbon content of 34.49%, and a calorific value of 5305.2633 cal/g. Differences in the composition of EFB and coconut shell mixtures, as well as the carbonization process, affected the quality of the briquettes produced.
