The Mangulosi tradition at Toba Batak Traditional Ceremonies is a tradition that has beencarried out from generation to generation by our ancestors and is still sustainable today. TheMangulosi tradition must be obeyed and carried out by Toba Batak people in carrying outtaditional wedding, death and birth ceremonies. The aim of this research is to find out themangulosi tradition and analyre the social meaning of the mangulosi tradition in every TobaBatak traditional wedding, death and birth ceremony in the city of Pematang Siantar. Thisresearch uses qualitative rescarch methods with a qualitative descriptive type. The datacollection techniques used in this research were interviews, observation, literature study anddocumentation. The examination and validity techniques used in this research are sourcetriangulation, data triangulation and method triangulation. The theoretical perspective used isIerbert Blumer's symbolic interaction theory to look at the social meaning of the symbolscontained in the ulos cloth and the mangulosi tradition.
