HUBUNGAN ANTARA TINGKAT SELF-COMPASSION DENGAN TINGKAT STRES AKADEMIK PADA MAHASISWA TINGKAT AKHIR DI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Final-year students experience high demands in completing various final assignments and carrying out other college activities. The heavy pressure exerted along with non-adaptive stressor management can cause anxiety and even mental disorders. Adaptive coping can be created by forming high self-compassion from within to be able to accept and manage stressors well. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and final year students' stress levels. This research was carried out using a quantitative approach with crosssectional data collection carried out at the Central Library of Sriwijaya University. This research analysis uses the Spearman Rank test. The research results showed that a p value of 0.000 indicated that there was a significant relationship between the level of self-compassion and the level of academic stress of final semester students. Apart from that, a correlation coefficient value of -0.290 was obtained which can be interpreted as indicating that there is a strong relationship with the opposite characteristic, namely that the lower the self-compassion, the higher the academic stress,. So, to maintain high levels of self-compassion levels it is necessary to form low stress.
