Teenagers are a group that is included in the young population and is vulnerable to being influenced by lifestyle, one of which is consumption behavior. Peers are one of the influences on teenagers' decisions in determining what they consume. Soft drinks are the choice of teenagers now. Soft drinks are carbonated and non-carbonated drinks with added sweeteners. The sweeteners contained in soft drinks have a negative impact on the nutritional status of adolescents. The aim of this research was to analyze soft drink consumption behavior, sugar intake and nutritional status of teenagers at SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was 99 teenagers aged 12-15 years at SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency with a sampling technique, namely proportionate stratified random sampling. The univariate results of the study showed that 64 teenagers (64.4%) had frequent soft drink consumption habits, 47 teenagers (47.5%) had poor soft drink consumption behavior, 63 teenagers (63.6%) had excessive sugar intake ,65 teenagers (65.5%) with over nutritional status. Bivariate results showed that there was no significant relationship between soft drink consumption behavior and adolescent nutritional status (p value = 0.48). However, there is a significant relationship between sugar intake and adolescent nutritional status (p value = 0.00) PR (95% CI = 4), which means that adolescents with sugar intake are 4 times more likely to be obese. With this high risk figure, it is hoped that teenagers can pay attention to the type and amount of everything they consume. Teenagers must also reduce their consumption of soft drinks and increase their consumption of water to avoid obesity.
