SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDG'S) DI PULAU SUMATERA : KEMISKINAN, PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI DAN LINGKUNGAN
This research explains the three main pillars of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's), including poverty for the social pillar, economic growth for the economic pillar and the environmental quality index (IKLH) for the environmental pillar. This research uses secondary data obtained from the Ministry of the Environment and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2018-2022 in 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra. The analysis technique used in this research uses panel data regression analysis with the best estimation model, Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Environment is the dependent variable and the independent variables are poverty and economic growth. The research results show that poverty and economic growth have a negative and significant effect on the environmental quality index. The decline in the number of poor people has resulted in an increase in environmental quality, partly due to increased awareness of the environment along with increasing prosperity. Meanwhile, increasing economic growth causes environmental quality to decline, partly due to increased industrial activity.
