ANALISA PENGARUH ARAH SERAT TERHADAP SIFAT MEKANIK MATERIAL KOMPOSIT SERAT ECENG GONDOK BERMATRIK RESIN POLYESTER DENGAN METODE VACUUM BAG
This research aims to utilize water hyacinth plant as a natural reinforcement in composite materials. Making this composite material using Yukalac 157 BTQN-EX polyester resin with catalyst from MEKPO (Methyl Ethyl Keton Peroxide) and water hyacinth fiber as a booster and using the vacuum bag method. The present study was to compare the experimental and theoretical variations of vertical and horizontal fiber directions with mechanical testing to comprise tensile tests with ASTM D-638 standards and impact testing using D-6110 stratum for physical testing comprising density testing using ASTM D- 792 as well as micro structure. The results showed that tensile stress values were experimentally vertical fiber 30.11N/mm2 and horizontal 29,38N mm2 and for theoretical tension 31,88 N/mm2, vertical fiber impact impediment 0,012,7389 Nm/mm2 and for fiber horizontal 0,0052418 Nm/mm2. While for vertical fiber density 1,083 gram/cm3 and horizontal fiber 1,074 gram/cm3 and for theoretical density equal to 1,015 gram/cm3.
