ANALISA PERBANDINGAN VOLUME DAN BIAYA PEKERJAAN BANGUNAN GEDUNG MENGGUNAKAN BIM DAN KONVENSIONAL
This research aims to analyze the comparison of structural work volumes and cost estimations in building construction using two methods: the conventional approach and Building Information Modeling (BIM) through Glodon Cubicost software. The case study was conducted on the student housing project at Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM), Palembang, focusing on key structural elements including pile caps, tie beams, columns, beams, and floor slabs. The methodology involved data collection (technical drawings, Bar Bending Schedules, cost estimates, and unit price analyses) and 3D modeling using BIM to produce accurate quantity take-offs and cost calculations. The findings indicate that BIM provides more efficient and precise results compared to conventional methods. Volume and cost differences between the two methods range from 3% to 5%, depending on the structural component analyzed. Moreover, the BIM-based cost estimate showed a savings of IDR 958,922,237 or 2.79% compared to the conventional calculation. This study concludes that BIM significantly improves estimation accuracy, minimizes human error, and enhances time efficiency in planning and cost control of construction projects.
