SISTEM MANAGEMENT BANDWIDTH MENGGUNAKAN METODE HIERARCHICAL TOKEN BUCKET (HTB) UNTUK MENGOPTIMALKAN KOMUNIKASI DATA PADA JARINGAN KOMPUTER
Network performance heavily depends on efficient and structured bandwidth management to ensure optimal data communication. This study implements the Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) method on MikroTik routers to allocate bandwidth based on traffic priority levels. HTB is integrated with the Queue Tree mechanism to create a hierarchical queue structure that distributes bandwidth among user segments with high, medium, and low priority levels. The implementation process involves VLAN configuration, traffic classification using mangle rules, and evaluation through five test scenarios, including real-time application performance (Zoom), YouTube traffic limitation using Layer-7 Protocol, and access control via Hotspot system for guest users. Network performance is assessed using Quality of Service (QoS) parameters, such as throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. The results show that HTB effectively enhances bandwidth utilization and maintains traffic stability according to defined priority policies. These findings confirm that HTB-based bandwidth management systems can significantly optimize data communication performance in computer networks and serve as an effective solution for traffic control in modern network environments.
