Palembang City is the second largest city after Medan City on the island of Sumatra, is now developing into a metropolitan city where started many infrasturctur built in every corner of the city. As a result of these development activities, empty land in urban areas one by one began to disappear and changed into buildings, houses or other infrastructure such as bridges LRT, roads and so forth. the limitation of vacant land is also caused by the migration of residents from the urban villages. The land that should be used as a burial land had to be trimmed to serve as a residential area. Planning and Design of Crematorium and Catholic Special Funeral Home Emerges as an answer to the problem of limitation of cemetery land that emerged in Palembang city. In addition to land constraints, the thing that drives this planning is technological progress that demands everything to be practical. Humans living in modern times require everything that is easy, fast, does not take too long, especially to buried the corpse. now lays the body is no longer a necessity but something inseparable from life. The concept of this design is Creating an area for the corpse for the congregation of the Catholic community , green and recreative. Combine various building functions into the one area to make it easier for people to plant their family's corpses. as well as presenting a different area with buildings in general that seem grim, unfriendly and make people to quickly leave the building. The location of the planning is in Gandus, Palembang. The distance from the city to Gandus area approximately 30 minutes if taken using a four-wheeled vehicle.
