PERBANDINGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN MAHASISWA PREKLINIK DAN KLINIK KEDOKTERAN GIGI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA TENTANG KONSEP GREEN DENTISTRY
Background: One of the biggest challenges of the 21st century is global warming. Dentistry is one of the major contributors of waste. A concept called Green Dentistry was established to reduce the impact of environmental damage due to waste from dentistry. The implementation of the Green Dentistry concept is still hindered by the lack of knowledge of health workers. Therefore, preclinical and clinical dental students are expected to have knowledge about the Green Dentistry concept so that they can implement and foster awareness of the importance of environmentally friendly dental practices. Objective: To determine the comparison of knowledge level preclinical and clinical dental students of Sriwijaya University about the Green Dentistry concept. Methods: This research was a non-experimental quantitative research using comparative method. This study involved Sriwijaya University Dentistry preclinical students class of 2022 (69 respondents) and clinical students class of 53 (40 respondents). A questionnaire of 15 questions was distributed via google form. Results: Preclinical and clinical students had a good knowledge level about the Green Dentistry concept 61% and 70%. The results of the mann whitney test showed that there was no significant difference between the knowledge level of Sriwijaya University Dentistry preclinical and clinical students about the Green Dentistry concept with p = 0,861 (p>0.05). Conclusion: There was no significant difference between the knowledge level of preclinical and clinical dental students of Sriwijaya University about the Green Dentistry concept.
