Palembang is a city with a history of a glorious Islamic sultanate in the past that has quite a lot of a culture and relics of Islam and spread in various areas in Palembang. Therefore, it needs an educational and recreational Islamic tourism development facility that accommodates in a building scope. The institution is not only for tourist information center and Islamic culture of Palembang but also accommodate historic artworks. Islamic civilization in Indonesia began in the 7th century and developed in the 13th century, as the role holder in the spread of Islam is Arabic, Indian and Persian. Islam entering the area of Sriwijaya in the 7th century, and then progressed to the heyday of the Sultanate of Palembang Darussalam. Now, the inheritage of the Sultanate of Palembang Darussalam leaves the culture, tourism and other relics that must be maintained, preserved, and developed. Planning and designing of Islamic Cultural Center in Palembang as a method of new ideas or ideas, as well as can be used as a scientific, coordinative and consultative institutions that seek to develop a harmonious climate between educational activities and the development of times. So this design combines various elements of activities in one concept of treading and building by emphasizing the modern elements and Islamic architecture based on technology however not leaving the traditional elements and local wisdom of it.
