This study aims to prove the effect of conformity on the interest in becoming a teacher in Economic Education students of the FKIP, Sriwijaya University in the 2021 academic year. This study is a quantitative study with a causal associative method to determine the effect of independent variables (free) and dependent variables. The population in this study were 44 Economic Education students of the FKIP, Sriwijaya University, class of 2022. The sampling technique used was the Saturated Sampling technique. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique for conformity and interest in becoming a teacher was obtained from the scores of the research questionnaires that had been conducted. The research hypothesis was calculated using the Pearson product moment formula with the results of the study, the calculated t value was 25.46 and the t table value was 1.993, so the calculated t value> t table = 25.46> 1.993, so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The calculation of the determinant coefficient shows that the conformity variable influences the interest in becoming a teacher obtained by 89.88%. This can be interpreted that the influence of conformity on the interest in becoming a teacher in Economic Education students of the FKIP, Sriwijaya University is 89.88% and 10.22% is influenced by external factor variables. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that Economic Education students of the FKIP, Sriwijaya University have good conformity skills, are more aware of the influence of the social environment in determining career choices, and prioritize personal interests and potential in choosing the teaching profession.
